Attribute analysis in seismic response of collapsed column

Abstract:The collapsed column is a major safety risk causing water-inrush accidents in coalfields.Seismic response of water-rich collapsed columns is not clear.There are very few successful cases to predict water-rich collapsed columns on conventional 3D seismic methods.Based on our research,it is proved that water-rich collapsed columns can be identified with 3D seismic attributes approaches provided by GeoEast System such as coherence,curvature,dip,phase,and texture.The attribute analysis is also applied to evaluate the water abundance assessment of collapsed columns,which proves the feasibility of the proposed method.Seismic response characteristics of water-rich collapsed columns can be predicted with the proposed method.Our research demonstrates that the proposed method is an effective solution for collapsed columns study in coalfields based on existing seismic data.
